Australia’s Premiere Stylist - Kelly Smythe

Kelly Smythe is the most influential stylist in the Sydney fashion scene and is often regarded as one of the premier fashion stylists around the country. Increasingly called upon to style and dress International celebrities and music artists who visit Australia, Kelly has maintained her reputation as Sydney’s A-list celebrity stylist whilst still maintaining her ever-increasing following of fashion conscious private clients.

In 2002 having just arrived in Australia from her native New Zealand, Kelly was head hunted by Channel Seven CEO David Leckie and offered the job of Head Stylist for the entire Channel Seven network. During this time Kelly styled the likes of Chris Bath, Isabel Lucas, Chris Hemsworth and visiting International stars Melissa George and Eva Longoria whilst maintaining creative control of the entire on-air image of the station nationally.

As Head Stylist Kelly also oversaw all sports coverage for the network including The Australian Open, designed the uniforms for the Olympic coverage in 2008 and oversaw hit shows The Great Outdoors, Australia's Got Talent & Dancing with the Stars.

One of Kelly's many achievements at Seven included her on air talent winning 'Best Dressed Celebrity' at the Logies three years running and herself being voted in the Best Dressed List in 2007 in fashion bible Harpers Bazaar.

After five successful years, Kelly left Channel Seven to focus her passion on a more personalized approach and in 2008 her freelance styling company Kelly Smythe Pty Ltd was born.

Servicing the likes of former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins with whom Kelly travelled to Paris Fashion Week with in 2008, Kelly quickly gained International recognition for her styling prowess, including her work at the Dior couture show. Locally, Kelly worked with Jennifer on all her professional commitments, including those in her role as the Brand Ambassador for MYER.

Over the last 24 months Kelly's clients have included Australian celebrities Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale and Delta Goodrem as well as International pop stars Jamiroquai, Kelly Rowland and Rihanna.

A large part of Kelly’s success is attributed to the 10+ years she has spent working with Australia’s leading designers, many of whom create one-off bespoke designs for her clients that are not accessible via any other means. Further afield, Kelly has built intimate relationships with a large number of international fashion houses including Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

Kelly's close association with David Jones has recently seen her working on their various in-store marketing campaigns, the David Jones Collection Launches and most recently, with International models Megan Gale & Miranda Kerr for the David Jones Spring & Autumn Carnivals. In addition to this, Kelly was appointed as Senior Premier Stylist for international retail giant Westfield.

Proving her talent is not just restricted to dressing red carpet events, Kelly is gaining a large following of private clients who recognize the positive influence she has been able to bring to their lives with her very sharp industry trained eye. These clients include highly skilled professionals and captains of industry, to stay-at-home mothers looking to reconnect and develop their fashion confidence.

As her freelance styling commitments have grown, Kelly has expanded her business to bring on and train a number of stylists, most notably Stephanie Malizis who now works alongside Kelly as Senior Stylist on all of her major jobs and campaigns.  Stephanie is a fashion natural who under Kelly's tutelage has grown in to an amazingly bright talent who looks set to have a highly successful fashion following of her own. Together Kelly and Stephanie have cemented themselves as two of Australia’s most sought after premier styling duos.

Love working with Kelly, her eye and detail is chic, sexy and the most considered.
